The Arctic, Antarctica and High Mountain Asia are considered to be the most sensitive regions to global climate change, driven by cross-spheric interactions. Changes in these regions have a significant impact on the living environment and societal developments. The rapid development of satellite remote sensing technology has facilitated the observation and retrieval of critical environmental parameters in the Arctic, Antarctica and High Mountain Asia. To promote academic exchange and cooperation among scholars in related fields and to discuss the latest trends, new theories, methods and achievements, the “International Symposium on Geomatics, Remote Sensing and Climate Change in the Arctic, Antarctica and High Mountain Asia” will be held at Tongji University in Shanghai, China, September 25-27, 2024.

The 29th International Polar Conference "Dynamic Poles and High Mountain Environments" is set to take place at the Mesnerhaus in Rauris, Austria, from 16 to 20 September 2024. Co-organized by the German Society of Polar Research and the Austrian Polar Research Institute (APRI), this transdisciplinary event will feature scientific talks, an extensive poster session, and will offer ample space for intensive discussions for polar and high mountain enthusiasts. Among the highlights will be a series of short presentations by early career researchers on their latest research findings as part of the German Research Foundation (DFG) priority program "Antarctic Research with Comparative Investigations in Arctic Ice Areas”, a prestigious public evening lecture, and a workshop by the "Association of Polar Early Career Scientists”.
The global Antarctic research event, SCAR 19-23 August 2024. SCAR and the Chilean Antarctic Institute are pleased to invite the international polar community to submit abstracts for the 11th SCAR Open Science Conference in Pucón, Chile. The SCAR Open Science Conference (SCAR OSC) stands as the foremost global platform for Antarctic science. It unites hundreds of researchers and other stakeholders who showcase cutting-edge advancements, shaping the trajectory of polar knowledge. The conference focuses not only on advancing our understanding of Antarctica but also on discussing its interface with critical issues like the climate crisis and its global impacts.
