The project

The main objectives are: 1. completion of magmatic and metamorphic rock mapping around Terra Nova Bay and Mount Dickason, where the relationships between the two groups of rocks are well visible; 2. sampling of igneous and metamorphic rocks for petrological, geochemical and geochronological researches. In particular, a sequence of abundant metacarbonatic rocks interlayered with metapelites has been discovered and studied at Mount Dickason. Moreover, a preliminary study for mineral resources was carried out in basement rocks and on moraine deposits.
